Deputy Chair, Social Enterprises & Impact Investing Associate, Morrison & Foerster
Jessica Bissey serves as Deputy Chair of Morrison & Foerster’s Social Enterprise & Impact Investing practice. She advises clients through their most significant and transformational moments, with a passion for bringing transactions from strategy through execution and ultimately to successful integration, and with a view toward business-minded solutions and driving measurable impact.
Jess focuses primarily within the impact economy, supporting social enterprises, mainstream companies seeking to have impact, for-profit/nonprofit “hybrid” organizations, and the full range of impact investors, as well as accelerators, incubators, and others interested in exploring how corporate structure and governance can promote and preserve mission. Her favorite pastime is geeking out about the future of impact with similarly dedicated friends.
During her career, Jess has acted as in-house counsel to three global public companies and a fast-growth tech company, leading investment and acquisition teams. She previously practiced in the M&A group of Sullivan and Cromwell’s London office.
Jess is currently leading the pilot year of a Legal Advisory Group for Echoing Green, a global social enterprise accelerator; she serves on the NextGen Leaders committee of the Northern Virginia Technology Council; and she is a member of the national Board of Directors of SEED SPOT.
