Jan Engkasser leads Thrivent’s engagement with external organizations to develop purpose-based partnerships that connect Thrivent with local communities. Through his work he creates relationships to engage individuals around financial well-being and generous living. Jan is the champion of Thrivent’s partnership framework, which focuses work with external organizations to achieve Thrivent’s business objectives while delivering meaningful impact. With his 25+ year tenure with Thrivent, he is a champion for how companies, charitable organizations, and individuals can work together to transform communities.
Jan’s undergraduate work (Muhlenberg College) focused on how non-governmental organizations work with national and international governments to develop initiatives and policies that serve the needs of local communities. He has enjoyed extended studies in our nation’s capitol and at the World Council of Churches and United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. He holds a Masters of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary (Gettysburg) and a certification in Project Management from Lehigh University.
Jan lives in Ames, IA with his husband Paul and their dog Clovis.
