Forward partners with the Poynter Institute to deliver innovative sexual harassment training, serves as an industry champion to onboard news organizations into McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace study and produces dialogues and thought leadership with the next generation of journalists and leaders. Press Forward is also the TIME’S UP partner to the press, committed to supporting the Legal Defense Fund so that the most vulnerable in the industry are protected from discrimination and harassment.
Carolyn began her career as a journalist at ABC News, where she wrote and produced for the first national newscast on energy and the environment, “Focus Earth with Bob Woodruff.” She also worked on ABC’s flagship evening broadcast, “World News with
Charles Gibson,” “Weekend Good Morning America,” and “The Barbara Walters Specials.” A former intern for “20/20” and “Primetime,” she also wrote for Engineering News Record.
She is currently an experienced management consultant and technology strategist in San Francisco, where she helps onboard startups and emerging technologies into the public sector, evaluating technology for public-sector applications. She also serves as a product manager focused on AI, data science, software and immersive. She also specializes in working with leaders to develop strategic plans for commercial, government and nonprofit ventures being disrupted digitally.
Carolyn has a B.S. from California Polytechnic in San Luis Obispo and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, where she was a student fellow for the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
